Dreams Death Dissociation: The God of Decay

Dreams Death Dissociation: The God of Decay, a series I created between my first and second semester, and it explores the idea of the stories you make for yourself before you go to sleep, and put so much effort and time into, that you want it to be told. But it’s yours, and as much as you want it to be made, you know it’s just for you, and yours alone. Dreams, Death, Dissociation, is the platform by which these stories are made; they are the films we invision, but cannot make. By continuing the series, all I am doing is exploring the limits of my own imagination, and what I am able to replicate from the film studio that plays before I fully go to sleep.

Hyperphantasia Capes

Hyperphantasia Capes was a series that I was and still am working on as a way to create a multitude of fantastical inspired capes and cloaks as part of CAPX's Working in Progress exhibition this past spring. I was one of 2 artists with on-going projects that would be worked on throughout the duration of the exhibition. Most of these capes I designed and made are fantasy based rather than historically accurate, and are a mix of hand sewing and machine use. Ideas start as sketches and concept art based work as designs for the capes themselves, and gradually get put together through a blend of techniques. Hyperphantasia Capes is a constant work-in-progress series and one that persistently tumbles through my brain gathering ideas. The theme of the show itself fits perfectly into this series as this project is one that I am still in early aspects of creating, but is one that doesn’t have a definitive end. Working-In-progress has an idea of creation and growing without a limitation, and that is what I set out to develop in this series; Hyperphantasia Capes would not be what it is without that base, and would not be able to flourish without it either.
